Friday evening, three former Illinois prep athletes saw minutes in a NBA game. Below I look into and share each of their NBA performances from April 9.

Best of the Day: Derrick Rose

Simeon’s Derrick Rose made a team-high 8 field goals in the Knicks’ win over the Grizzlies.

  • Derrick Rose (Simeon/Knicks)- 26 mibites, 19 points, 8/17 FG, 0/4 3PT, 2 offensive rebounds, 4 total rebounds, 3 assists, a steal, 2 blocks, 2 turnovers, and +2 in a 133-129 win over the Grizzlies.

The rest of the performances of the day:

  • John Konchar (West Chicago/Grizzlies)- 11 minutes, 0/3 FG, 0/1 3PT, a rebound, 2 assists, a steal, and -7 in a 133-129 loss to the Knicks.
  • JaVale McGee (Franciscan/Nuggets)- 10 minutes, 4 points, 2/3 FG, 2 offensive rebounds, 8 total rebounds, an assist, a block, 3 turnovers, and -5 in a 121-119 win over the Spurs.

Other Notes

Marshall’s Patrick Beverly just came back and is already going to be out for some time again.
