Former Illinois Prep Athletes and their NBA Performances- May 13 Recap

Thursday evening, eleven former Illinois prep athletes saw minutes in a NBA game. Below I look into and share each of their NBA performances from May 13.

Best of the day: JaVale McGee

Franciscan’s JaVale McGee dripped 12 points and grabbed 13 total rebounds to secure his first double-double of the season.

  • JaVale McGee (Franciscan/Nuggets)- 24 minutes, 12 points, 6/12 FG, 5 offensive rebounds, 13 total rebounds, a team-high 2 steals, and +0 in a 114-103 win over the Timberwolves.

The rest of the performances of the day:

  • Patrick Beverly (Marshall/Clippers)- 18 minutes, 2 points, 1/4 FG, 0/2 3PT, a steal, a team-high 2 steals (tied with Ivica Zubac), and -1 in a 113-90 win over the Hornets.
  • Chasson Randle (Rock Island/Magic)- 25 minutes, 9 points, 3/8 FG, 3/6 3PT, 4 rebounds, a steal, a block, a turnover, and -1 in a 116-93 loss to the Hawks.
  • Kendrick Nunn (Simeon/Heat)- 22 minutes, 13 points, 6/9 FG, 1/4 3PT, 2 rebounds, a block, and +16 in a 106-94 win over the 76ers.
  • Andre Iguodala (Lanphier/Heat)- 23 minutes, 2 offensive rebounds, 5 total rebounds, an assist, a block, 3 turnovers, and +8 in a 106-94 win over the 76ers.
  • Max Strus (Stagg/Heat)- 2 minutes, 0/1 FG, 0/1 3PT, and -5 in a 106-94 win over the 76ers.
  • John Konchar (West Chicago/Grizzlies)- 5 minutes, 0/2 FG, 0/1 3PT, a rebound, 2 assists, and -6 in a 116-110 win over the Kings.
  • Richaun Holmes (Lockport/Kings)- 11 minutes, 3 points, 1/5 FG, 1/1 FT, an offensive rebound, 2 total rebounds, 2 assists, 3 blocks, and -4 in a 116-110 loss to the Grizzlies.
  • Frank Kaminsky (Benet/Suns)- 14 minutes, 0/6 FG, 0/2 3PT, a game-high 4 offensive rebounds, 6 total rebounds, 2 assists, and +7 in a 118-117 win over the Trail Blazers.
  • Jevon Carter (Proviso East/Suns)- 5 minutes, 0/1 FG, 0/1 3PT, and +1 in a 118-117 win over the Trail Blazers.
