Former Illinois Prep Athletes and their NBA Performances- May 28 NBA Playoffs Recap

Friday evening, three former Illinois prep athletes saw minutes in a NBA game. Below I look into and share each of their NBA performances from May 28.

Best of the day: Derrick Rose

This was Derrick Rose’s first NBA playoffs start since 2015.

  • Derrick Rose (Simeon/Knicks)- 39 minutes, 30 points, 13/21 FG, 3/5 3PT, 1/1 FT, 2 offensive rebounds, 6 total rebounds, a team-high 5 assists, a steal, 2 turnovers, and a game-worst -16 in a 105-94 loss to the Hawks.

The rest of the performances of the day:

  • Patrick Beverly (Marshall/Clippers)- 6 minutes, 2 points, 1/2 FG, 0/1 3PT, a rebound, and +3 in a 118-108 win over the Mavericks.
  • Jalen Brunson (Stevenson/Mavericks)- 22 minutes, 14 points, 5/8 FG, 4/6 3PT, 2 rebounds, an assist, a game-worst -19 in a 118-108 loss to the Clippers.
