This NBA season is vastly approaching its end but that is not the end of NBA and professional hoop activities. There is still combines, Summer League, Olympics, WNBA, and more. This weekend, those events start up with the G-League Elite Camp beginning on June 19 and going through June 21. It will be followed by the NBA Draft Combine which goes from June 21-27.
The G-League Elite Camp is another opportunity for players to showcase their skills in front of NBA and G-League coaches and staff. This year, 40 players were invited. Last year, the camp was cancelled because of the pandemic. During this three day camp, players will play five-on-five games and do strength and agility drills. A select few of the draft-eligible players will be invited to go compete against the players in the NBA draft Combine.
Chicago is host to both the G-League Elite Camp and NBA Draft Combine. The G-League Elite Camp will take place at Wintrust Arena while the NBA draft Combine will be at both Wintrust Arena and the Marriott Marquis in Chicago.
