Former Illinois Prep Athletes and their NBA Summer League Performances- August 17

Tuesday, four former Illinois prep athletes saw minutes in NBA Summer League games. Below I look into and share each of their NBA Summer League performances from August 17.

The Sacramento Kings are the 2021 NBA Summer League Champions.

Tuesday, August 17

  • Matt Mooney (Notre Dame College Prep/Jazz)- 26 minutes, 10 points, 4/7 FG, 2/3 3PT, an offensive rebounds, 4 total rebounds, 3 assists, a game-high 6 turnovers, and -2 in a 103-98 loss to the 76ers. Click attached link to see Mooney’s buzzer beater.

  • Paul White (Whitney Young/Jazz)- 3 minutes, 3 points, 1/1 FG, 1/1 3PT, a turnover, and -6 in a 103-98 loss to the 76ers.
  • Vic Law (St. Rita/Lakers)- 21 minutes, 11 points, 5/12 FG, 1/6 3PT, a game-high 4 offensive rebounds (tied with another), a team-high 9 total rebounds, 2 assists, a steal, and -7 in an 84-76 win over the Warriors.
  • D.J. Steward (Whitney Young/Kings)- 11 minutes, 4 points, 2/6 FG, 0/1 3PT, 2 steals, a turnover, and +8 in a 100-67 win over the Celtics.
