Relive Chicago Sky’s 91-77 win over Phoenix Mercury

Sunday, Chicago Sky made a statement in Game 1 of the WNBA Finals. After a five-point deficit in the first quarter, the came roaring back in the second quarter by taking a commanding lead with their 26-10 quarter. That 26-10 quarter included a 17-0 stretch. Sky took Game 1 with a promising 91-77 win over Mercury.

Six of the Sky’s player scored in double figure including all five starters.

  • Kahleah Copper- 33 minutes, 21 points, 7/13 FG, 5/5 FT, 10 rebounds (5 offensive), 3 assists, 2 steals. 3 turnovers, and +17.
  • Candace Parker- 34 minutes, 16 points, 7/10 FG, 1/3 3PT, 1/1 FT, 8 rebounds (3 offensive), 3 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks, 2 turnovers, and +8.
  • Courtney Vandersloot- 28 minutes, 12 points, 6/9 FG, 0/1 3PT, 5 rebounds, 11 assists, a steal, and +25.

Next Game

The Chicago Sky hold a 1-game lead with another matchup in Phoenix before heading to Chicago. They take on the Phoenix Mercury in Game 2 of the WNBA on Wednesday, October 12 at 8 P.M. central at the Footprint Center.

No injuries are listed on their Injury Report as of October 12.
