Former Illinois Prep Athletes and their NBA Performances- December 9

Thursday evening, four former Illinois prep athletes saw minutes in a NBA game. Below I look into and share each of their NBA performances from December 9.

Best of the day: John Konchar

West Chicago grad and current Memphis Grizzlies guard John Konchar has joined a handful of undrafted NBA players making solid contribution to NBA teams. Konchar is a huge spark of the Memphis bench and will do everything he is asked and more each time he steps on the court.

  • John Konchar (West Chicago/Memphis Grizzlies)- 19 minutes, 7 points, 2/4 FG. 0/1 3PT, 3/4 FT, 3 offensive rebounds, 6 total rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, and +14 in a 108-95 win over the Los Angeles Lakers.

The rest of the performances of the day:

  • Anthony Davis (Perspectives/Los Angeles Lakers)- 38 minutes, 22 points, 9/18 FG, 1/4 3PT, 3/4 FT, an offensive rebounds, 8 total rebounds, an assist, a steal, a block, a turnover, and -2 in a 108-95 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies.
  • Talen Horton-Tucker (Simeon/Los Angeles Lakers)- 27 minutes, 10 points, 5/10 Fg, 0/1 3PT, an offensive rebound, 2 total rebounds, 5 assists, a turnover, and -11 in a 108-95 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies.
  • Keita Bates-Diop (University/San Antonio Spurs)- 31 minutes, 7 points, 3/8 FG, 1/2 3PT, 0/2 FT, 3 offensive rebounds, a team-high 9 rebounds (tied with Jakob Poeltl), 2 assists, a game-high 2 steals (tied with 2 opposing players), 2 turnovers, and +4 in 123-111 win over the Denver Nuggets.
