Former Illinois Prep Athletes and their NBA Performances- February 3- Undrafted Fred VanVleet Has Been Named to the NBA All-Star Game

  • Talen Horton-Tucker (Simeon/Los Angeles Lakers)- 29 minutes, 9 points, 4/7 FG, 1/2 3PT, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, a block, a turnover, and a plus-minus of zero in a 111-110 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers.
  • Patrick Beverly (Marshall/Minnesota Timberwolves)- 29 minutes, 11 points, 4/8 FG, 2/3 3PT, 1/2 FT, an offensive rebounds, 6 total rebounds, 7 assists, a game-high 2 steals (tied with a few others), and a team-worst -3 (tied with Jaden McDaniels) in a 128-117 win over the Detroit Pistons.
  • Max Strus (Stagg/Miami Heat)- 16 minutes, 6 points, 2/3 FG, 2/3 3PT, 2 assists, a turnover, and +8 in a 122-95 win over the San Antonio Spurs.
  • JaVale McGee (Hales Franciscan/Phoenix Suns)- 16 minutes, 12 points, 5/5 FG, 2/3 FT, 2 rebounds, a game-high 1 block (tied with 2 others), a turnover, and a game-worst -12 in a 123-115 loss to the Atlanta Hawks.
  • Fred VanVleet (Auburn/Toronto Raptors)- 42 minutes, 21 minutes, 6/19 FG, 3/9 3PT, 6/6 FT, 4 rebounds, a game-high 9 assists, a team-high 2 steals (tied with 2 others), a game-worst 4 turnovers (tied with Chciago’s DeMar DeRozan, and +6 in a 127-120 overtime win over the Chicago Bulls.
  • Ayo Dosunmu (Morgan Park/Chicago Bulls)- 42 minutes, 11 points, 5/12 FG, 1/5 3PT, 4 rebounds, a team-high 8 assists, a block, 3 turnovers, and -2 in a 127-120 overtime loss to the Toronto Raptors.
  • Richaun Holmes (Lockport/Sacramento Kings)- 24 minutes, 4 points, 1/4 FG, 2/2 FT, an offensive rebound, 4 total rebounds, 3 assist, a steal, a block, 2 turnovers, and -3 in a 126-114 loss to the Golden State Warriors.

Fred VanVleet (Auburn) is a 2022 NBA All-Star after being named to the East Team as a reserve.
