Thursday, five former Illinois prep athletes saw minutes in various NBA games. Below I look into and share each of their NBA performances from February 17.

Best of the Day: Jevon Carter

  • Jevon Carter (Proviso East/Brooklyn Nets)- 19 minutes, 14 points, 5/11 FG, 3/9 3PT, 1/2 FT, an offensive rebounds, 3 total rebounds, an assist, a team-worst 3 turnovers (tied with 2 others), and -1 in a 117-103 loss to the Washington Wizards.

Rest of the Day’s Performances

  • Max Strus (Stagg/Miami Heat)- 14 minutes, 2 points, 1/6 FG, 0/5 3PT, a rebound, and -20 in a 111-107 win over the Charlotte Hornets.
  • Jalen Brunson (Stevenson/Dallas Mavericks)- 37 minutes, 23 points, 8/13 FG, 3/4 3PT, 4/4 FT, a rebound, 6 assists, 2 turnovers, and -9 in a 125-118 win over the New Orleans Pelicans.
  • Sterling Brown (Proviso East/Dallas Mavericks)- 4 minutes, a rebound, and +2 in a 125-118 win over the New Orleans Pelicans.
  • Robert Covington (Proviso West/Los Angeles Clippers)- 14 minutes, 2 points, 1/4 FG, 0/2 3PT, 2 offensive rebound, 5 total rebounds, an assist, and +11 in a 142-111 win over the Houston Rockets.

Extra News

Minnesota Timberwolves had begun their All-Star break leaving players with extra times on there hands. Patrick Beverly (Marshall) decided to spend it at a Los Angeles Clippers-Houston Rockets. Beverly played for the Clippers from 2017 to 2021.
