Tuesday, four former Illinois prep athletes saw minutes in various NBA games. Below I look into and share each of their NBA performances from March 1.

Best of the Day: Jalen Brunson

  • Jalen Brunson (Stevenson/Dallas Mavericks)- 34 minutes, 22 points, 9/15 FG, 4/6 3PT, 2 rebounds, 4 assists, a game-high 4 steals, a turnover and a game-high +7 (tied with 4 others) in a 109-104 win over the Los Angeles Lakers.

Rest of the Day’s Performances

  • Talen Horton-Tucker (Simeon/Los Angeles Lakers)- 33 minutes, 8 points, 3/6 FG, 0/2 3PT, 2/2 FT, a rebound, 2 assists, 2 turnovers, and -13 in a 109-104 loss to the Dallas Mavericks.
  • Robert Covington (Proviso West/Los Angeles Clippers)- 22 minutes, 7 points, 3/6 FG, 1/4 3PT, 8 rebounds, a game-high 4 blocks, and a plus-minus of zero in a 112-100 win over the Houston Rockets.
  • Patrick Beverly (Marshall/Minnesota Timberwolves)- 22 minutes, 10 points, 3/9 FG, 2/7 3PT, 2/2 FT, a rebound, a fame-high 7 assists (tied with D’Angelo Russell), a steal, a turnover, and -1 in a 129-114 win over the Golden State Warriors.
