Proviso West grad and NBA forward Robert Covington agreed to a two-year, $24 million contract extension with the Los Angeles Clippers.

Covington has played for five different teams over last five season. Those teams include the Philadelphia 76ers, Minnesota Timberwolves, Houston Rockets, Portland Trail Blazers, and his most recent stop- Los Angeles Clippers.

On February 4, he was traded by the Portland Trail Blazers with Norman Powell to the Los Angeles Clippers for Eric Bledsoe, Keon Johnson, Justise Winslow and a 2025 2nd round draft pick.

He went on to play 23 games for the Clippers while making two starts. He average 10.4 points, 5.1 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 1.3 steals, 1.2 blocks, and 0.7 blocks per game. He also shot 50 percent from the field, 45 from three, and 84.8 from the free-throw line.

During his short-time in L-A, Covington was given plenty of opportunity and now looks to have found a new home. Also, just a few short months back he scored a career-high 43 points while dropping a franchise record 11 three-pointers.
